Adventures in the art of striptease!!!

Hi Guys and Dolls!

August has gone so fast and I find it really funny that there is still some month left at the end of my money.

So, what have I been doing? Well about the third week of July, my good friend Emma Brown at My Vintage, Darwen asked me if I would like to do a burlesque skit for her shop's 2nd birthday bash!

Erm....ya!

So let's get this straight. I have not previously offered my services as a burlesque performer but Emma knows 3 things about me.

1. I own a lot of cool, burlesque-y clothes (Emma knows this cos she is my enabler)
2. I like to be naughty
3. I like an audience for said naughtiness or it's just no fun!

So, then it came about. I put a costume together, I found a track, I made a quick routine and then I let the whole of Facebook know that I was going to do burlesque. In public. Not just a 5 minute desk fantasy whilst I try to sell houses and put some sass in my customer relations.

The night soon came around. And people had obviously paid attention to facebook for once because the shop was packed! The event was hugely successful anyway but Emma said a few people were coming just for little old me....GULP!

Pre-Show Nerves and Slight Sicky feeling.

But then, even though I couldn't hear my track reet well this is what happened next:

Et Voila!!! Instant burlesque sensation! Hehehehehe. New burlesque gig coming up in November for charity. Make sure you watch this space!!!

My special Thanks go to Emma Brown, Lucy San Ingham, Katie Bettie, Mick Davies, Lucy Payne, Emily Charlotte Martin, and the makers of Hei Poa body oil for the hilarious costume malfunction pre show.

Ginger Pens her first show Or, Tits for Tips!!

Hello My lovelies!!!

It's time for me to start making some money and gaining some recognition.

I am ( as a lot of people may know), a performer at heart.

I love to be on stage and to take the limelight. I am addicted to the adrenaline rush.

It is sad that I won't be performing this year with the award winning Pepperpot Hill Theatre Group of Darwen fame but it is time to take Ginger on to new heights.

I shall be penning a show which may or, may not include a couple of my friends.  The concept behind this show is burlesque and this is where my title may have mislead you a little. Yes it is true that I have a passion for burlesque and its fashionable revival but lets just take a moment to assess what the true meaning of burlesque is.

Burlesque is an art form that hails from ancient Greece (please read Dita Von Teese's Art of The Teese for more information) and it is basically one big, thigh-slapping, piss take from start to finish. It is musical, it is rude and some of it may contain nudity.

Fancy seeing me be funny and rude (and maybe semi nude)?

Then watch this space! I am in the process of writing the show in between Wilde bouts of procrastination. I suspect I shall have something for stage just in time for Christmas.

Cat Woman! Or, Ginger's modelling career!

Hello folks! It’s time for a little review of what I will be getting up to in the near future.

For a start I have decided that I would like to bring Ginger Wilde, Pin-Up and Burlesque Star to the stage somehow. But how? Well, by entering into the spirit of what Burlesque was really about. The sexiest thing in this world is a smile and someone who can make you laugh. Let’s see if I can tickle you all, eh?

Next up in my schedule is, the Lytham wartime show and weekend.  A very lovely lady asked me to model for her after seeing my photos on the My Vintage website and other work I have done with Much Love Photography.

Of course, something you may have gleaned from me in various posts is that I haven’t been feeling too well. I have seen the doctor and he is treating me for migraines as well as sending me on various trips to the hospital in the near future to check for nasties. I am fairly certain there are no nasties but you can’t bury your head in the sand however much that head of yours hurts.

I am on the look out now for a variety of photographers and artists to get in touch with me if they would like to experiment with the pin-up genre. For the time being this will be free and on a mutual schedule basis. I will of course provide plenty of coverage and recommendations. For this reason please be aware that I will try to work as diverse an area as possible to avoid too much competition. If you would like to approach me directly for reviews that is fine.

I will also be doing my photo journals again and hopefully soon there will be videos too.

Watch out for blogs about what I've been up to recently
As always

Ginger Loves your Inner Pin-Up!

It is an important lesson in life to consider what you are saying yes to before you say yes.

That said, never be overly cautious! Life is not mega long and wouldn't you rather regret DOING something than NEVER having done something?

The Pin-Up project for me was one of those self made opportunities. I have been inspired by the genre of modelling and photography for years.

Anyone who knows me, absolutely knows that I LOVE to flirt. Being Ginger is for me, flirting with myself, my playful side and the side of me that I have given absolute permission to say yes to the things that make me happy. That build me up. That gives me the chance to build other people up.

Happily a few people have told me that I have made their day either through pin-up, my day job or just because, I took the time to talk to them. I would love to continue this and to make more people feel happy! So, please read on.

On the 21st of June 2014, I declare it Inner Pin-Up day! When I first started with this idea and in my original post there was some mis- interpretation which is actually my fault because, I am never clear and hardly ever know what my point should be.

INNER PIN-UP DAY: The Revised Rules!

1. Wear something, anything that is orange! If you don't have the clothes check out the My Vintage Shop Window in Darwen this week! A vision in lambent, orange hues. Or even Nail Polish, A scrunchy...whatevs dudes!

2. Each person that you meet on this day (or any day in fact) may not know how beautiful they are. So, tell them. In particular I am asking that we pay attention to women folk for there is a pin-up in us all.
3.Understand what I mean by telling someone they are beautiful:
  • You can go for a compliment on what they are wearing or the perfume you can smell.
  • You can tell them that you admire their smile, their strong positive attitude.
  • You can tell them that they inspired you to write, read, be a better parent.
  • You can tell them that today is a better day than yesterday because, they are in it.
It's not just outer beauty you see, it's all the things that combine to make someone truly beautiful. Your Inner Beauty or your Inner Pin-Up! Do you get me?

Don't forget to check out my facebook page and like it so, you can be kept abreast of event details.
Join the happy revolution, let everyone know that they are seen and appreciated in this sometimes, quite harsh world. Then don't forget to tell yourself whilst you are there.

Ginger's money saving tips or beauty and life on a shoe string budget.

When you have very little money to begin with it is always worth knowing how much you have and when you will have it.  This is known globally as, "budgeting".
However, for the purposes of glamour we shall call it "fiscal organisation".
Pour yourself a cup of tea, we will be here a while.

Actually it's much easier than people would have you believe! There are a number of small steps involved.
1. Identify what you need to spend and when it needs to be paid. Rent, food and bills should all come first.
2. The presentation of yourself and family come next. Make sure you have enough soap, toothpaste and clothes without holes in.
3. Entertainment! Once you have sorted the necessary payments, remember to budget for entertainments.
4. Savings. 10% at least of everything you earn from now on should go into a savings account. This is your rainy day/ deposit fund.
5. Always having something spare In the current account for coffee and lunch and fuel if you drive.

This has been a Ginger Wilde kick start to frugal living. Be sure to follow me through the week as I will be covering each of the steps mentioned above and giving you some fantastic money saving tips.

As always, I love you all dearly xxx

Frugality or Ginger makes do!

Today I am a new Ginger! This happens once every quarter when I resolve to clear out and make my bank balance a little larger.
Basically, Ginger got plans to be an enhanced version of herself! And I also resolve to stop talking about myself in the third person.
So on to Sunday's lessons in frugality. Do I need it? Will I use it all or wear it more than once?
I resolve to ask myself these questions at every purchase, especially body creams!
If the answer is I'm only buying it cos I saw it in a magazine or on t.v then I will not buy it.
Scoffing at my own weak will here!
Wish me a lot of luck peoples. Hang around for this evenings post won't you?

All my love,

Ginger xxx

Gingers addiction to Lush or, bath blogging!

Yep I am blogging from my gold and bubbly bath! I love it. God bless hand held techy stuff, eh?
It's been such a long time since my last blog, I barely know where to start.

Well the easiest place to start is Birthdays! I have several friends whose birthdays fall in March which in my opinion makes the entire month better than Christmas season! There have been parties and fabulous cakes.  There have been epic board games and even more epic dancing and singing. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and an extended family of friends! Long may it continue!

Of course what happens when Ginger parties too hard and works hard too? She gets a bit lethargic, a bit apathetic and just a tad ill. Nothing serious but a few headaches and a lingering cold which have caused a few more frown lines.

So, after a few weeks of no shoots and no modelling at all, Ginger really wants to come out to play.

Before I reveal my April/ May plans why don't you take a look back through March's shenanigans ?
